Security Camera Installations
Which camera is best suited for my business or home?
No matter your choice of CCTV system, we have the expertise to install and configure it.
UniFi PoE Cameras
UniFi Protect is indeed among the best cost-effective solutions, seamlessly integrating with other UniFi security devices such as PoE motion sensors, NVRs, PoE illumination, UniFi door access, and UniFi ViewPort. UniFi Security Cameras are PoE-enabled, while the video doorbell may support either PoE or WiFi connection. Through the UniFi app, you can conveniently stream live video on your cellphone or laptop, with the ViewPort facilitating streaming on a TV or screen. UniFi offers a wide range of security cameras priced from $99 up to $2,500. UniFi is our top choice! 👍
Cisco PoE Cameras (Meraki)
Cisco surveillance cameras are undeniably top-tier devices in the market, offering unparalleled reliability and functionality. Features include support for video walls with up to 16 cameras, intelligent event search, WiFi and low-energy Bluetooth control, and intelligent sensor mode, among others. However, due to their high cost, we typically don't recommend Cisco CCTV systems for residential use. They are ideal for businesses, university campuses, large hotels, and warehouses. Please note that operating Cisco products requires a certified system administrator and an annual license.
Google-Nest WiFi Cameras
The Google Nest WiFi camera comes in two variations: the Floodlight Camera, which requires a 125V power source, and the Battery-Powered Camera (wire-free), both essentially the same camera but with different power requirements. Data transfer is facilitated through WiFi. The camera is highly reliable when there's good WiFi coverage. Additionally, the Google Home app enables you to integrate various smart devices, both made by Google and compatible with Google, such as Sonos speakers and Lutron Smart switches. By combining these devices, you can create customized scenarios for your residential property. For instance, when the camera detects motion, your porch lights can automatically turn on, and so forth.
Ring WiFi Cameras
Ring cameras offer similar features to Google Nest cameras. They are reliable and effective when there is sufficient WiFi coverage and a strong signal around the camera. The Ring app allows integration with partner devices like Lutron smart switches or Philips smart light bulbs. However, the Google Home app is more widely used and slightly more convenient. A significant advantage of Ring cameras is the camera-less floodlight, which you can control through the Ring app and create various security scenarios without the need for smart switches.
No-Name Chinese Cameras
$199 for the entire security camera setup, including 8 cameras, an NVR, and a 1 TB hard drive! You may come across such offers at Costco during the Christmas holidays. Should you buy it? Our answer is: you can purchase it if you're prepared to invest in installation. Most of these setups use outdated wiring standards (coaxial plus power), meaning you won't be able to replace your cameras with modern ones in a few years. It's a different story with cheap Chinese manufacturers like Reolink, FS, Swann, and others. They are extremely affordable and not too bad. Some have been known to work reliably for years in tough business environments like restaurants. If your business is on a tight budget, you can consider using Chinese PoE cameras. This way, you'll be able to replace them without significant investments in cable infrastructure, which can be the most expensive part.
PoE Security Cameras
IP Cameras utilize Power over Ethernet (PoE) protocol, connecting to the local area network solely through an Ethernet cable (Cat 5e or Cat 6). This single cable serves for both power and data transfer.
